Cyera, a data security startup founded in 2021, recently secured $300 million in series C funding, led by investment firm Coatue Management.
This funding round, which also included investors such as AT&T Ventures, Spark Capital, Accel, Redpoint, and Sequoia, has brought Cyera’s valuation to $1.4 billion.
With a total capital raised of $460 million, Cyera plans to enhance its AI-powered data security platform, which enables enterprises to monitor structured and unstructured data in cloud data stores using AI and machine learning to identify and classify sensitive information.
The company
split between New York and Tel Aviv, Israel, boasts a staff of 200, including software engineers, AI and machine learning developers, and cybersecurity researchers.
Cyera has recently appointed Jason Clark, formerly of Netskope, as its new chief strategy officer.

Google introduced its first Arm-based CPU design, named Axion, at the Google Cloud Next 2024 event.
These chips offer up to 50% better performance than current x86-based chips and claim to be 60% more energy efficient.
While these chips will not be available for purchase, they can be rented via Google Cloud services.
Google is already utilizing Arm-based chips to power services like Google Earth Engine and YouTube Ads platform.
Additionally, Google Cloud unveiled a preview of Arm-based instance support in its Migrate to Virtual Machines service and introduced updates to its Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). Cloud TPU v5p, Google’s latest and most powerful TPU, is tailored for training large generative AI models.
At the same event, Google revealed new AI-powered tools for Google Workspace, including Google Vids, an AI-powered video creation app for work environments.
Vids generates video content using natural language prompts, allowing users to edit style, control stock media, and select voice-over options.

Google also announced experimental support to protect enterprise data against quantum computer attacks and enable the integration of custom AI models into Workspace apps through the Vertex AI platform.
Users can deploy custom models into Workspace apps like Docs and Gmail, with over 130 options available in Vertex’s Model Garden for custom models.
Gemini for Workspace, an assistant powered by Google’s flagship AI model, is among the AI integrations already present in Workspace.
